Comment: This is a hover fly and not a wasp! It only has one set of wings and doesn't have a waist either. Sitting on an iris in my garden pond

Aeshna-Juncea-Common-Hawker-Dragonfly * Couldn't resist this full face on view of a Common Hawker Dragonfly from my pond. I just love those lips and the colour lipstick! It is a female as it happens too. * 1067 x 875 * (244KB)
Before I got interested in stinging insects there were lots of things that I thought could sting you but in fact don't. This section is devoted to those insects!
